Overview
Council has finalised and adopted the Climate and Environment Strategy 2024–2029. This strategy sets out the guiding principles and objectives for Council’s approach to environmental sustainability and climate change over the next five years.
The adopted strategy outlines the actions Council will take to address environmental impacts and climate risks—both in its operations and across the municipality.
It aligns with the commitments of the Victorian and Federal Governments to reduce carbon emissions, including Victoria’s target of net zero emissions by 2050. As part of these efforts, Council will continue to promote economic, social, and environmental sustainability while responding to the challenges of climate change.
