The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia is observed 17 May annually to recognise the day the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. IDAHOBIT celebrates the LGBTIQA+ community internationally and also raises awareness of the work that still needs to be done in communities to erase discrimination.
Benalla Rural City Council will raise the progress pride flag Tuesday 17 May 2022 for a week to celebrate IDAHOBIT and show their support and commitment to the LGBTIQIA+ community. The week will also be accompanied by activities for young people who are a part of the LGBTIQIA+ community and their allies.
To register your interest in attending any of the activities please enter your details below and you will hear from Stephanie in the Council’s Youth team with further information about location and time. You can also contact Stephanie on 0447 166 528 for more information.
The Umbrella Group is a safe space for young people to come together, chat and have fun. To confidentially register your interest or find out more, complete the form below.
