The development of Township Plans is a key commitment from Benalla Rural City Council to its rural townships and surrounding districts. In collaboration with our community, we will create a document that identifies and prioritises projects and community aspirations for the future.

Each Township Plan will:

• articulate the issues that are important
• provide a clear blueprint for future development
• assist the community to attract local and state funding to help achieve identified priorities and projects
• provide a coordinated approach for social, cultural and economic development
• identify tourism and promotion opportunities.

Initially, we will work with the Thoona, Baddaginnie and Swanpool communities to create their Township Plans. Our other rural townships will follow in early 2022.
